CAT
2017 is the admission gateway to 20 IIMs and other top B-schools in India like
FMS, SPJIMR, MDI, IMI, IMT, TAPMI, JBIMS among others. Indian Institute of
Management (IIM) Lucknow is the CAT 2017 convening IIM and will conduct CAT
2017 exam on November 26, 2017. The CAT 2017 convener, Prof Neeraj Dwivedi,
faculty and admission chair at IIM Lucknow has informed that 2.31 lakh
candidates have finally applied for CAT 2017. This figure includes only those
candidates who have completed their CAT 2017 registration and application form
and have paid the requisite exam fee. The CAT 2017 application process has
closed on September 25, 2017 at 5 PM after getting an extension of 5 days from
September 20 to 25, 2017. Last 2 CAT exams in 2015 and 2016 were convened
by IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore respectively. TCS the testing partner
for CAT since 2014 remains unchanged. Common Admission Test (CAT), gateway to
20 IIMs and other top B-schools will be held in the similar format as that of
CAT 2016 and CAT 2015.
Special facilities with increased time limit of 1 hour will be
provided to PWD candidates appearing in CAT 2017 exam. Details available at CAT 2017: Assistance to Disabled PWD candidates; request
option open till Sept 30. CAT is the MBA entrance exam for
admission to all the 20 IIMs including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM
Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Shillong, IIM Kashipur,
IIM Ranchi, IIM Raipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Tricuhirappali, IIM Udaipur and also
the newest IIMs which started operation in 2015-16 and are mentored by older
and top IIMs. The biggest benefit to study in newest IIMs is that the faculty
of these IIMs is drawn from faculty of mentor IIMs. The 7 newest IIMs include -
IIM Amritsar (mentored by IIM Kozhikode), IIM Bodgaya (Mentored by IIM
Calcutta), IIM Jammu (Mentored by IIM Lucknow), IIM Nagpur (mentored by IIM
Ahmedabad), IIM Sambalpur (Mentored by IIM Indore), IIM Sirmaur(Mentored by IIM
Lucknow) and IIM Visakhapatnam Mentored by IIM Bangalore). Your high
overall and sectional scores in CAT 2017 will offer you an opportunity to get
admission not only in these 20 IIMs in 2018 but also in other top Business
