CAT
2017 exam notification Press release is out on July 29 and the Notification in
news papers has been published on July 30, 2017. CAT 2017 website iimcat.ac.in has
also been activated on July 30. CAT 2017 exam is
to be held on Sunday November 26, 2017. It will again be a single day two
session exam as was conducted in previous two years. Common Admission Test
(CAT) 2017 Exam for admission to flagship MBA/PGDM programmes starting in 2018
will be conducted by IIM Lucknow. Professor Neeraj Dwivedi, Admission chair and
faculty at IIM Lucknow is the convener for CAT 2017 exam. Going by the past
application trends, it is expected that more than 2 lakh candidates will
register and apply for CAT 2017. The CAT 2017 exam
will be of 180 minutes (3 hours) time duration.
CAT
is the MBA entrance exam for admission to all the 20 IIMs including IIM
Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode,
IIM Shillong, IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Raipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM
Tricuhirappali, IIM Udaipur and also the newest IIMs which started operation in
2015-16 and are mentored by older and top IIMs. The biggest benefit to study in
newest IIMs is that the faculty of these IIMs is drawn from faculty of mentor

entrance exam is considered as the mother of all MBA entrance exams. Common
Admission Test – CAT 2017 is the largest MBA entrance test to pursue MBA/PGDM
in IIMs and other top rated MBA colleges in India. CAT exam 2017 will be
conducted by IIMs for admission to MBA/PGDM 2018-20 batch not only in 20 IIMs
but also in other top MBA colleges in the academic year 2018-19.

MBA entrance exam used to be held in 15 to 20 days testing window till 2013 by
IIMs. In 2014 CAT testing window was shortened to 2 days 4 sessions. Since 2015
CAT exam testing window has been further shortened to one day only. Accordingly,
CAT 2017 exam is proposed to be held in one day 2 sessions only.

Notification will be released by CAT convener IIM Lucknow on July 30 and CAT
2017 official website will also be launched with the release of CAT 2017
notification by IIMs. CAT convener Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, admission chair at IIM
Lucknow has confirmed that the CAT 2017 notification will be released in the
